As Muslims across Nigeria and around the world celebrate the sacred occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Prof. Shehu Dikko, has called on Nigerians to embrace the enduring values of sacrifice, peace, unity, and patriotism as vital ingredients for national growth, stability, and security.

Speaking with HYPENEWS REPORTS in Abuja during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, Prof. Dikko described the festival as a profound reflection of obedience, faith, tolerance, and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim. He noted that the significance of sacrifice remains particularly relevant to Nigeria’s present realities, especially in addressing the country’s security and socio-economic challenges.

According to the NSC Chairman, meaningful national progress can only be achieved when citizens collectively place the interest of the nation above personal, ethnic, religious, or political considerations. He emphasized that Nigerians must continue to make conscious sacrifices that promote peaceful coexistence, national unity, and sustainable development.

Prof. Dikko stressed that peace remains the cornerstone of every prosperous society, urging citizens across the country to continue living harmoniously with one another during and beyond the festive period. He further encouraged Nigerians to remain law-abiding, resilient, and committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening national cohesion and stability.

The respected sports administrator also expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the administration remains determined and committed to addressing the numerous challenges confronting the nation. According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government reflects a clear vision towards improving security, revitalizing the economy, and creating opportunities for Nigerians across all sectors.

Prof. Dikko further urged Nigerians not to lose hope, noting that the country possesses the human and material resources necessary to overcome its present challenges through collective responsibility, unity of purpose, and effective leadership.

Beyond his Eid-el-Kabir message, Prof. Shehu Dikko continues to play a significant role in Nigeria’s sports administration and national development efforts. Since his appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission in 2024, he has been widely recognized for his contributions to sports management, youth development, institutional reforms, and the repositioning of Nigeria’s sporting sector.
