Day Hon. Peter Akpanke Took Son to Church
By Solomon Kpamor in Abuja
Last Sunday, 23rd February, 2025 may have come and gone but the memories of a child dedication and thanksgiving by the member representing Obanliku/Ogbudu federal constituency, Hon. Peter Akpanke in Abuja will remain fresh in the memories of well-wishers, constituents, colleagues political associates and family members who attended the event.
From the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Maitama where the church mass was conducted, to the reception venue in Garki, the goodwill and solidarity were overwhelming.
It was a confirmation of the youthful representative's popularity and by extension, an overwhelming appreciation of his stewardship in less than two years in the National Assembly.
Though, a faithful of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the delegation from his home state of Cross River was beyond partisan affiliations.
Conspicuously present were Cross River state government officials who are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Notable among them was the commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Austin Atiang Beshel.
Similarly, Hon. Akpanke's colleagues at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly- the House of Representatives- irrespective of party affiliations displayed uncommon solidarity to the lawmaker.
The lawmaker and his wife could not hide their joy and appreciation of God's favours and the blessings of a baby bouncing boy, Master Ansel Aharami Peter Akpanke.
