In a compelling display of unity and purpose, the Niger Delta Youth Movement Abuja Chapter, in collaboration with various youth groups, conducted a pivotal sensitization campaign in Sapele aimed at curbing the vandalization of power facilities and installations belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

This initiative, led by Comrade Lucky Dibia, epitomizes the proactive approach that youth organizations are taking in preserving essential infrastructure vital for regional development and stability.

The campaign stems from an urgent need to address the rising menace of vandalism that has plagued power installations in the Niger Delta. Such acts of sabotage not only impede the efficient distribution of electricity but also hinder socio-economic growth within the region, affecting businesses, education, and overall quality of life for the residents.

Recognizing these challenges, the Niger Delta Youth Movement took it upon themselves to galvanize community support and awareness around the detrimental impacts of these nefarious actions.

Comrade Lucky Dibia emerged as the principal voice during the campaign, delivering a thought-provoking address that emphasized the crucial role of community involvement in safeguarding government properties.

"His impassioned plea resonated with the audience as he underscored the responsibilities that come with citizenship. Dibia articulated a vision where local residents actively protect these installations, framing it as a moral obligation that impacts not just their present but also the future generations.

By addressing the youth and community leaders, he fostered a sense of ownership and pride in local resources, reminding attendees that a strong collective stance against vandalism could significantly ameliorate their living conditions.

In his address, Dibia further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging his administration's commitment to enhancing power supply and infrastructure development across the nation. He expressed appreciation for the minister of power and the CEO of TCN, underscoring their efforts in striving to make electricity accessible and reliable for Nigerians.

The Nigeria minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu disclosed this in a statement, while reviewing the activities of the ministry in the last one year,as the country marks its 64th independence anniversary, the minister Adelabu attributed the achievements to the steps that were taken by the ministry with the support of Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of his renewed hope agenda to galvanise the economy.

Hypenews Reports that the minister, one of the major and significant achievements of the ministry within the last one year, today, Nigeria is generating over 5500, megawatt power.

He said the ministry is working to improve on this record by the end of the year,as power supply constitutes one of the compaign promises of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The minister says there vision is to ensure that they provide households, businesses and institutions, educational and health institutions as well as industries, with stable Electricity supply, this will enable them to power their activities, improve their capacity and create more jobs. By recognizing the leaders' initiatives, Dibia reinforced the idea that collaboration between government entities and the citizens is essential for achieving collective goals.

The campaign also included practical demonstrations and discussions aimed at educating the community about the consequences of vandalization, which often include prolonged blackouts, loss of jobs, and increased neglect of public infrastructure. The youth movement stressed the importance of engaging in dialogue with local law enforcement and community leaders to address barriers to effective policing of power installations.

As the sensitization campaign progressed, it became clear that the commitment demonstrated by the Niger Delta Youth Movement goes beyond mere rhetoric. It signifies a broader movement seeking to reshape perceptions and cultivate a culture of respect towards public infrastructure.

By championing the cause of protecting power facilities, the youth are not only advocating for economic stability but also for the environmental sustainability of their region.

In conclusion, the initiative led by the Niger Delta Youth Movement Abuja Chapter serves as a formidable example of how youth can galvanize communities towards a common cause. The words of Comrade Lucky Dibia resonate as a clarion call for vigilance and responsibility concerning public assets. As the residents of Sapele embrace this message,

"it is anticipated that the collaborative efforts between the youth, government, and the Transmission Company of Nigeria will pave the way for a more secure and empowered future in the Niger Delta region. Through sustained efforts and community engagement, the battle against vandalization can be won, ensuring access to reliable power for all.
