As we slowly start getting ready to bid farewell to 2024—a year marked by grave challenges yet brightened by the extraordinary resilience of women leaders around the world—we hold hope. This holiday season, we invite you to stand with us in support of local women peacebuilders, humanitarians, and human rights defenders whose courage continues to light the way toward a more peaceful and equal world.

From Ukraine to Palestine, Sudan to Afghanistan, remarkable women have led transformative efforts at the grassroots level throughout the year. Their unwavering dedication to their communities—and their vision of a gender-equal, peaceful future—serve as a powerful reminder of the change that begins with women.

Yet, as human rights and gender equality face alarming setbacks everywhere around the world, funding for local women’s organizations remains critically low. At the United Nations Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), our mission is clear: to equip these women leaders with the resources they need to:

Prevent conflict and radicalization,
Expand access to humanitarian aid,
Protect the fundamental rights of marginalized groups,
Tackle sexual and gender-based violence,
Provide life-saving health and psychosocial services,
