African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly Ends 1st Annual Lecture, Honors Great Nigerians

In what appears to be a momentous event last weekend in Abuja, the African Union Agenda 2063 rounded up it's annual lecture series, with a charge to its ambassadors to remain committed to its goals and aspirations despite daunting challenges. It used the opportunity to honor great and distinguished Nigerians of various professional callings in both private and public sector of the country's economy.
The event which took place at the popular Nicon Luxury hotel, Abuja witnessed the convergence of dignitaries and ambassadors who are committed to the ideals of the African Union Agenda 2063.
In his welcome address, the head of mission, African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, Amb Dr Stephen Gbatigbi Ben- Joel remarked that the event signals a pivotal milestone in the organization's collective journey towards achieving the African goal.
He added that "we gather to appraise the 11 year journey of the AU agenda 2063 and chart the way forward ", while also pointed out that the theme of the event, " appraising the 11 year journey of AU agenda 2063 is appt, profound and timely as it encapsulates the essence of Africa's collective mission as an assembly.
He further reminded members of the tough journey ahead but enjoined them to be recommitted to the goal ahead.
" I encourage you, do not grow weary. The journey may be long and the challenges daunting, but together, we can and will achieve the African vision as Ambassadors.
Some of the high profile Nigerians that were honored at the event include, Hon Hamza Suleiman Faskari, Hon Nasiru Sule Garo both of them Commissioners of Environment, Katsina and Kano State respectively.
Others also included Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-oba, Vice Chairman Ikorodu Local Government Council, Lagos State, Chief Oscar Igbokwe, an astute business man and CEO of Bussdor Group of companies, Mr Abba Abubakar Aliyu, Managing Director, Rural Electrification Agency etc.
Besides the prestigious awards to eminent Nigerians, other were also inducted into the organization as ambassadors of which includes Amb Peter Baba Ebene, Amb Arch Felix O. Arome, Prof Tunji John Assaolu amongst others.
While fielding questions from journalists at the event, some of the recipients expressed their profound comments of gratitude and joy over the honor done to them with the prestigious award, while reassuring of their commitment towards the achievement of the African Union 2063 agenda.
For Hon Princess Folashade Olabanji-oba who is also the chairman of all Vice Chairmen of the Association of Local Government Areas of Nigeria, VCALGON, the award would not have come at a better time than now.
According to her, this is so because she is one of the top contenders and frontliners contesting for the number one seat of the Council as executive chairman come early next year, 2025 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
While granting interview with some media chums before the start-up of the event, she revealed that she is the most preferred aspirant for the topmost job as her antecedents speaks volumes for her.
She went on to add that "l've been very passionate about it and my people are solidly behind and in support of me".
Olabanji-oba, who is a very easy going politician with a listening ear further revealed her motivating and driving force when she stated that her campaign slogan is rooted on the caption "grow Ikorodu" as to mako it to be amongst the greatest Council economies in Nigeria and the world at large.
Regarding her program for the youth, she said she has passion for them as she intend to create an avenue for them to leverage on to develop themselves.
