Ganduje, Others Honored With Peace Ambassadors Award

The All Progressives Congress, APC national chairman and the immediate past governor of Kano State, Alh Abdullahi Ganduje were among other prominent Nigerians that were honored last weekend by a renowned group that prime itself championing the cause of unity, peace and harmony in the country.
The group, Wazobia Conflict Resolution and Peace Advocacy, WACORPA has over the years been canvassing and as well preaching the cause of a peaceful co-existence and harmonious relationship amongst all the ethnic nationalities that make up Nigeria.
According to the national President of the Group, Amb Garuba Marafa, the essence of engaging in the movement is however rooted in the popular paradigm which harps on the need for prosperity which flourishes on unity and peaceful co-existence, "in unity we stand and shall prosper".
Other prominent Nigerians honored were Rtd CSP Mohammed Rabo Lawal, Amb Ibrahim Musa, Dan Masanin Daguri, Evang Dr Tony Okpara JP, Amb Dr R. D. Okorie, Amb Khaulatu Adamu Umar and a host of others too numerous to mention.
Speaking further on the criteria for picking the nominees for the award, the group President, a young and pan-Nigerian advocate, Amb Marafa explained that they were drawn from different categories of personalities who distinguished themselves in the promotion of peace and tranquility as well as engaging in various aspects of humanitarian services across the country.
Most of the awardees who aired their views on the investiture however expressed their joy and gratitude to the organization for being bestowed with such a great honor.
However, they all agreed on the great expectations that accompany the honor as they promise to do more to promote peace and harmony in the country.
In his words, Mohammed Rabo Lawal, who was bestowed with three awards in the event, however said he is elated and delighted to be recognized, promising not to rest on his oars in support of tranquility and peaceful co-existence in the country.
He however didn't leave the youth of the country, whom he described as pillars that holds the nation with words of wisdom. His wise counsel is that they should always give out their best in the service of their nation by utilizing their brains and energy. On the part of the elders, he reminded them of the need to always stand and support the young ones in nation building.
Amb lbrahim Musa on his own, spoke on the existential need to have this crop of conflict resolution and peace advocacy group in our society in multiple numbers as to further entrench their services across, maintaining that it will go a long way in promoting peace and harmony in the country.
Also contributing, Evang Dr Tony Okpara JP enjoined Nigerians to distance themselves from violence and tribalism, as according to him it's one of the cancerous monster that destroys a nation. "What is killing the country is tribalism and not necessarily the leaders", he went on to say.
For Amb Dr R. D. Okorie who also spoke in the direction of unity and peace which fosters growth and development of a country, it's about time for all Nigerians of all walks of life to start to imbibe the spirit of oneness, love and trust with a positive mindsets about the country.
Amb Okorie, who affirmed that he belongs to the school of positive thinking and as a pan- Nigerian, we should strive towards settling our differences and move ahead as one and united country.
The event which held at the Maryam Babangida Women Centre, Abuja however attracted friends and family members of the awardees in large numbers.
