AKWA IBOM LGA POLL: PDP wins 30, APC 1, As Frank Achibong Praise the Arise Agenda

The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) in a statement released the results of the local government election held on Saturday, October 5.

Aniedi Ikoiwak, the Chairman of AKISIEC, announced the results at the commission’s office in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.

According to the announcement, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cleared in 30 out of the 31 local government areas in the state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) won in Essien Udim, the local government area of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

Hypenews Reports gathered that the PDP secured the majority of the councillorship seats across the state, solidifying its position as the ruling party.

Hon. Frank Achibong, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, speaking with Hypenews Reports after casting his vote, at his polling unit in eket local government of the State, Praise the Arise Agenda of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Eno. 

"He said, the process leading to the elections was and very credible, the peaceful atmosphere made possible by His Excellency Pastor Eno. 

"Frank, however appreciated the good people of the State for conducting themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner.  

Following the successful conduct of the election, all is now set for elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to be sworn in on Monday, October 7, 2024, by 8 am at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, in the State capital.
