UPDATE: "ENDBADGOVERNANCE"
Protest In Nigeria Has Brought Back Unity...

Richard Alkali, Abuja

Although the purpose of the protest might have not yielded the desired result/dream yet, but one thing for sure is that it has helped the people brought back their stolen unity that has been orchestrated by politicians.

Hypenews Reports gathered,  judging from the parameter of occurances and operation, one would agree with me that in this protest movement, there is no religious nor ethnic sentiments.

Ethnic chauvinism and regional jingoism have been brushed aside focusing on the fact that Nigerians have taken a stand to fight the bourgeois who are actually the main challenged of Nigeria as a country. We could see an incident in Jos, Plateau State where Christians curdled round their Muslim protesters during prayer to protect them and similar incident happened in Lagos. At least it is a great achievement in this direction.

It could be expedient to note that democracy is a process to freedom but in the contextual analysis, in Africa societies, it is somewhat contradictory.

The black man sees democracy as an opportunity to oppress the downtrodden. Once someone is voted to office, he/she feels it's time to exploit, subjugate and dehumanised people by suppressing them. But there is always a limit to everything.

Democracy in Africa most especially in Nigeria is experiencing thwartness and suffocation. It is pessimistically being upturned from the real - opposite side of it is what is being practice.

This is because, the process people follow to assumed an office is by hook or crook and reason is because they have realised that politics is a lucrative business. So people do all manners of things to get there.

It's true - recently a group of Clergy men from different religious back ground in Nigeria visited President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to give in their advices on this issue of planned protest that was heating the polity. To their surprised the President categorically told them that he bought the office he is currently occupying now, 9trillion naira.

Whaoooo, that sound funny - what do you expect from such a person who have spend his hard earned money to get to such exulted office?

It all applies to key governmental organisations/offices. People plot graphs to get to where they don't belong to. People buy their ways to key positions just for fame and exploitation. Corruption all over the place. This critical situation is generating danger, the next option would be revolution.

Those who were fortunate to watch the clips of protesters on Tv or social media will agree with me that the masses are seriously angry.

For comparative analysis, I see black people as people who don't want freedom. This is because in the whole of African continent, freedom is being basterdise - right from S/Africa, President Jacob Zuma played a negative role while in office, can we move up to Sudan, Albanshir caused a division in the country because of power. What of West African countries like :Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, military took over because of bad leadership.

Military to me is the best option for Africa countries most especially Nigeria. It is better you experience hardship while a military is ruling and not during democracy. Bloody civilians have caged the people with hunger and stress.
During military regime, things are done accordingly, well coordinated and not this corrupt democracy where things are turn upside down and no one can ask why such?

However, business people are the worse, they keep influencing prizes of goods in the market, it is because due to bad governance, there is no mechanism in place to checkmate prize control.

The government should have come up with an organised body that will regulate prize control most especially foodstuff in the market before removing the Fuel Subsidy.

But before such rules and game comes to reality, the government would need to do check and balance by bringing in enough foodstuff at a subsidise rate before such rule can work.
