As economic hardship continues to deepen in Africa’s most populous country amid accelerating inflation. a non-governmental organisation (NGO) Promise Land Foundation in Abuja Nigeria, had its second edition of Food Camp and Empowerment Program, an initiative aimed at providing meals for the less privileged in our society. The drive initiative is to feed at least 1000 household. Last weekend, 27th July 2024.
Amb. Dr. Lawrence Oloche Emmanuel (MON), who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Promiseland Estate, located in Abuja the nation’s capital. a recipient of the national merit award of Member Order of Niger (MON), a renowned humanitarian and philanthropist.
"Amb. Lawrence had unveiled the humanitarian arm of his business, Promiseland Foundation with N100m seven months ago for the service of humanity.
"Amb.Mrs.Gift Lawrence, the Executive Director, Promisedland Estate, the Coordinator of Promisedland Foundation, is using this organisation help the vulnerable in our society to address the challenges they are facing in a protracted period of rising inflation and deepening poverty,'
"According to her, the primary objective of the feed camp drive initiative is to feed 1000 households by providing essential sustenance to those in need within the community, addressing food insecurity and alleviating hunger.
The feed camp drive aims to ensure that vulnerable families have access to nutritious meals and can meet their basic nutritional requirements, she added.
"Speaking with Newsmen Hypenews Reports Abuja, Amb. Gift said, the issue of food security and access to nutritious meals remains an escalating concern in many communities in Nigeria with support from her husband their mission is to deeply root out hunger, provide education, shelter, clothing, hope and eradicate poverty.
"Further more, she said it is our collective obligation to contribute to underserved communities around us and ensure that no one should go to bed hungry and that poverty is one of the root causes of crime, violence, sicknesses, poor education, discrimination, and death, which is prevalent in our society;
"With help from the foundation they aim to aid the vulnerable – men, women, and children to achieve their full potential, live productive lives and make an impact in the world. We aspire to eliminate the injustice of poverty and give the vulnerable a chance at living!”
