COLLEGE LECTURER, AKIANG ADMONISHES COUPLES TO LOOK UP TO GOD & NOT THIRD PARTIES IN SETTLING MARITAL CHALLENGES.

Following rampant cases of divorce and other marital issues bedeviling marriages in recent times, a Lecturer with the Federal College of Education, Obudu, Mr Joseph Akiang has called on couples especially newly wedded ones never to seek advice from a third party in their marital affairs, but to relentlessly seek God.

Mr Akiang who sponsored the wedding of Mr and Mrs Ekunke Edward stated this in a chat with Journalists at a wedding reception held on the 27 April 2024 at Saint Charles Catholic Church Obudu, Cross River State-Nigeria.

The College don, while admitting that marriage is such a difficult institution, advises couples to always strive to communicate with one another which will in turn breed understanding, and also tolerate one another noting that these are ingredients that will quell misunderstanding and foster peace in homes.

"According to him "You know marriage is so difficult, and by God's grace we've been privileged to sponsor a lot of weddings, so, my advice to couples especially newly wedded ones, is they should find a way of solving their problems instead of bringing the third party, this is  because we notice that most of the challenges in marriages emanate or stems out  from outsiders"

"Speaking on the issue of childlessness or delay in childbearing, Mr Akiang also admonished couples to wait on the Lord maintaining that there's nothing the Lord cannot do.

"Consequently,  Mr and Mrs Ekunke appreciate God for making it possible for them to be united as one having scale many obstacles,  challenges, and disappointments.

The Couples advised young men and women waiting on God for a live partner to be patient and not to rush averring that at the appropriate time, God will surely avail them of their own loved one.

However, Mr Ekunke promises to do all he can by God's grace to provide for and protect his family.

The high point of the event was dancing merriment.
