The recent landing of a 45,000-kilometre submarine fibre optic cable in Akwa Ibom, which establishes connectivity for the South-South with Europe and other parts of Africa via the Atlantic Ocean, was highly praised by the president. He emphasized that with the implementation of appropriate policies, partnerships, and unwavering determination, Nigeria will successfully overcome the longstanding development obstacles that have hindered progress across various sectors.

During his tenure as the two-term governor of Lagos, Mr Tinubu reflected on his extensive experience in corporate governance and his interactions with CCA. He commended the corporate council for its commitment to fostering business connections between the United States of America and Africa.

Why expressing his satisfaction, the President stated, "I am pleased that the council is actively engaged in various segments of Nigeria's economy. Although we are currently facing challenges in our reform process, we are resolute and will not regress. We acknowledge the difficulties ahead, but we firmly believe that we will overcome them. I possess a can-do attitude that must be transformed into a must-do attitude. With a strong team in place, we must maintain our focus to achieve our goals."

Mr. Tinubu restated his dedication to establishing a conducive atmosphere for businesses to flourish, in order to support the increasing population of Nigeria.

He pledged to increase investments in crucial sectors including agriculture, solid minerals, energy, health, physical infrastructure, trade promotion, financial services, digital enterprise, and the creative economy.

"We will prioritize security measures and allocate more resources to education, as we firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to combat poverty. We warmly welcome partners like CCA, and we will enhance our collaboration to accomplish our objectives," he stated.
